about

Going into this track I wanted to convey two things, beauty and the feeling of existentialism.
Everything in the universe is beautiful. Planets, stars, meteor showers even those god damn black hole things that suck anything near it into oblivion.
Alongside the beauty, I get existential thinking of the universe and how freaking huge it is in comparison to us.
They use the word speck in ‘Horton hears a who’, and that word resonates with me so well. We truly are nothing but a speck.

I built this track around the piano, a beautiful acoustic instrument. The constant piano chords that play throughout the track represent the timelessness of the universe. The universe never stops. It is and always will be.
The bass piano notes highlight the feeling of existentialism conveying a melancholic but also confident tone. We are okay with being nothing. We are okay with being nothing but a speck.
Things come and go in the universe. Worlds and life are brought in and taken away. The strings and drumbeat represent this, breathing life into the track. They come in and they are taken away, leaving only the original piano. Signifying that everything will come and go in the universe.
