Beautiful, powerful, and freaking enormous. These are three words that come to my mind when I think of a star.
If these huge monoliths floating in space had feelings and emotions like you and me, how would they feel?
That’s what I wanted to convey in this track. The grandeur emotion of a star.
Inspired by the blade-runner soundtrack (thanks to my godbrothers suggestion), I used the digital CS-80 to shape the track.
The ambient pads, in the beginning, sound like they are breathing, representing a star full of life.
The bass that comes in convey the confidence of these huge balls of light.
There is so much movement happening in a star, energy getting blasted left and right, nothing is static. To highlight the constant movement I continuously automated a few of the filters, bringing them in and out.
Finally, this huge horn-sounding synth comes in, lifting the track up to a huge cathartic climax.
Tears represent pure emotion. You cry from sadness, and happiness, they represent the highest high and lowest low.
I felt like that final synth perfectly represented a crying star.
